How much time off work does the Eyelid lift Surgery require?
Depending on your line of work, average time to recover ranges from 7-10 days. Immediately after surgery you should avoid strenuous activity such as heavy lifting or exercise as recommended by your doctor to allow your body sufficient time to heal. If absorbable sutures were used they do not need to be removed and will dissolve on their own, any non-absorbable sutures are typically removed in about a week and you will begin to notice an improvement in the bruising around your eyes.
How long is an Eyelid Lift Surgery?
For both upper and lower eyelid lift the total surgical time is between 3-4 hours. You will be required to perform blood tests and medical evaluation prior to your surgery date which may be schedule 1 day before your surgery. Patients can return home immediately after surgery, keep in mind your eyes will be swollen from surgery and traveling with a companion is highly recommended.
How long after surgery can I see the results?
Although many patients return to work between 7-10 days after surgery it may take up to 6 weeks for swelling to subside completely and tissue deposits from eyelids to settle into your skin. You should be able to appreciate the results from your surgery in 4-6 weeks following your surgery.
How long will my eyes be swollen after my Eye Bag Removal Surgery?
The first 24-48 hours are mostly uncomfortable, although our team will prescribe medication for pain and swelling you will feel your eyes heavy and swollen the first 2-3 days. You may experience some pain, bruising and swelling after the procedure and your physician will likely recommend cold compresses or pain medication to help make you as comfortable as possible.
