Integrative Assessment

18 day programs range from: $25,000 USD to $35,000 USD

The first step in our Functional Oncology Protocol at MedicalMex, is what we like to call: the integrative assessment. For our functional team is a vital step to understand the patient and the disease, that is why we have one objective: the individuality of the patients.

Our motto at the Functional Oncology Clinic in Tijuana, Mexico is: “No patient is the same”. When it comes to traditional cancer treatments, they have a protocol that treats all patients with any type of cancer with the same therapy, which is tumor oriented. That leaves a very important factor outside: the patients individuality.

Patient Testimonial

Breast Cancer Survivor Testimonial – Sherlyn Nocwiki

Sherlyn Nocwiki is a 52-year-old cancer free patient from Canada, that was diagnosed with breast cancer before getting a 12 day treatment with us. She shares how the moment she was diagnosed with cancer was the most frightening moment of her life and after she researched all the negative the side-effect from traditional cancer treatments and their secondary effects the fear only grew and became more real.

Sheryl like most patients, had many treatment options and along with her primary care doctor from Canada who helped her go through the process of deciding, they talked with Dr. Perez for about six hours to decide.

Sheryl explains how before arriving with us, she visited another cancer clinic in Tijuana but her experience was bad and their premises made her feel very uncomfortable, completely the opposite of how she felt when she walked in to our facilities where the premises are up to US standards and the staff made her feel right at home. She gets emotional when talking about how good the personalized attention of Dr. Perez and the entire medical team was.

How do you create an Integrative Assessment?

Our functional oncology team, uses five areas related to the etiology of cancer to create an integrative assessment of the patient’s health: Genetics, Nutrition, Xenobiosis or Toxicity, Chronic Inflammation and Psychology.

In addition, it represents the importance of a multidisciplinary medical team to have the result of multiple situations for example how the patients are living with the disease, pathologies and factors such as how the disease is manifesting.

Integrative medicine is a healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.

Integrative assessment happens in the first 3 to 4 days of the patient’s arrival:

  1. Medical appointments with assigned medical team.
  2. Medical tests: imaging studies to lab-work.

The evaluation is done through the assigned functional team and can be extended or modified to any situation or need of the patient.

*We do not repeat tests, we will only perform the one does our patient doesn’t have and the one which lost clinical value.

Our evaluations give us specific information about systems and organs that may not be affected and the ones that have an overload.

With an adequate analysis of both situations we can define the patient’s specific needs, the specific interventions he or she needs as a preventive measure, identify possible complications and other pathologies as well, as their prevention or early management.

This allows us to outline the personalized plan they need to maintain the balance if they have it or establish a proper intervention for those who do not.
